Hey! Welcome to my website.
I’m just a girl standing in front of an industry, trying to be an audio producer.
This is who I am.
My name is Naja, I’m 27 years old and I’m Swiss/Swedish. My journey towards radio and audio began when I finished my Bachelors in Neuroscience at the University of Edinburgh. Upon completing my bachelors, I was incredibly confused as the only certainty I had was that I didn’t want to pursue a career in research. As much as this caused turmoil, it forced me to face myself and ask what I really wanted to achieve. This is when my best friend asked me if we should apply for a show on student radio.
We applied, secured a Saturday night slot and created our show, Practicing for Parties. During this, I fell in love with the medium of radio and felt a passion I hadn’t felt in a long time. I then moved to London, worked in a cafe (a dream of mine) and applied to a CertHe in Radio Broadcasting at Point Blank Music School. I completed this in June 2020 and have since been looking for a way into the radio/audio industry.
01
The Economist
Audio Editor: I have been working as an audio editor for the audio version of The Economist for a year and it has been a pleasure. My main responsibilities are editing articles as they come in during the day, liaising with Voice Over artists, proofers and other producers, proofing audio and ensuring we meet our daily 6.30pm deadline.
02
The Black Monologues
Audio Production assistant: I’ve had the privilege of working on this project where my main responsibilities are removing inconsistencies in audio and generally editing long-form interviews. If you’re interested in this project, please visit theblackmonologues.com
03
Mi-house Radio
Weekly producer: I was lucky to work alongside Gem Precious and helped with the running of her 3-5pm weekly live show Precious Gems. I co-hosted certain aspects and helped with feature creation and updating social media.
04
Mixcloud
Presenting and producing my own show, Probably Weekly: During my diploma, I created a music show on Mixcloud as a way to familiarise myself with Myriad and Audition. I’ve continued to work on it and my aim is to create a joyful and honest space for everyone to enjoy music. I’ve recorded both in studio and with my own set up and edit it on Adobe Audition.

Fresh Air
Co-presented on Edinburgh University student radio, Practicing for Parties: During October-December 2018, I co-presented this show on Edinburgh University Student Radio. We discussed any and all topics, laughed a lot and played our favourite music.

Gail’s Bakery
Team Member: A dream of mine was to work in a bakery and I did this upon moving to London in January 2019. I worked as front of house, qualified as a Barista and found a huge interest in coffee. I still miss the energy of working in a close-knit team.
07
Edinburgh’s Christmas
Front of House Assistant and resident Elf: My main role in this was as an Elf in the Santa’s grotto. I loved this as it consisted of creating a magical environment for children and parents alike. I was also responsible for the smooth running of several events outside of the grotto and for handing all customer complaints and queries.
